2011 Summer Social July 30 - Capitalizing on the Vermont Brand Date: Saturday July 30th; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Location: Mountain Meadows Farm, Intersection of Rte 30 and Rte 73 between Sudbury and Whiting Cost: Free for VBPA and VGFA members, $30 for non-members (cost includes free VBPA membership); includes lunch Join members of the Vermont Beef Producers Association at the annual Summer Social! Amiel Cooper and Brian Kemp, of Mountain Meadows, will lead a farm tour, talk about their animal, feed, and cropping systems along with sharing their experiences with GAP certification and selling primarily into a regional wholesale market. We will have an informal discussion on how beef producers and processers might work together to take advantage of the Vermont brand through coordinated industry standards. We’ll be firing up the grill for a summer cook-out and a taste-test of steaks from around the state.
