VBPA Calving and Calf Management Clinic

The Vermont Beef Producers Association presents the annual Calf Clinic,
The clinic is hosted by Guy Crosby in Hartland Vermont. Registration begins at 9:00am with the program commencing at 9:15 and concluding at 12:30.
Refreshments will be provided in the morning, but attendees will be on their own for lunch. The clinic is free to members of each sponsoring organization. Non members will be charged $35 to attend and will receive a one year membership to the VBPA. To assist with planning and to reserve a seat, individuals interested in attending should call David Mills at 802-247-8886. Please RSVP by Wednesday March 24th.
Dr Kent Anderson of Valleywide Veterinary Services of Middlebury will be presenting the clinic. Dr Anderson is the Vermont Beef Producers Association consulting veterinarian and also assists with our spring and fall feeder cattle sales Attendees will learn what preparations are necessary to have a successful calving season, the difference between a normal and difficult birth, and when to consult a veterinary in case of calving difficulties.
Other aspects covered will be: neo-natal calf care, the need and use of colostrums, calf management, castration, dehorning, and vaccinations. This program stresses the need for a complete year round health management program for both brood cows, and calves through weaning. There will be ample opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Directions: From the west take rte 4 east from Woodstock to the blinking light at Quechee, take a right on the Quechee-Hartland rd for 2 miles, then left onto Clay Hill rd for 2 miles. Farm is on right, white house/red barn.
From the North if you are on I-89, follow signs for I-91 north, stay in the right lane and exit on rte 5 south. Go 4 miles and turn right on Clay Hill rd, go 2 miles farm is on right
From the south take I-91 exit 9, go north on rte 5 through North Hartland, under I-91, take next left onto Clay Hill rd go 2 miles, farm is on right.
